Exciting NASCAR Racing Events at Daytona International Speedway
Thinking of a Florida vacation this season? Then Daytona on the east coast of the State, is definitely worth having a look at. This very popular tourist beach destination also hosts some amazing NASCAR Racing Events at Daytona International Speedway.
Racing History At Daytona
The Daytona International Speedway is located right in downtown Daytona Beach, Florida. Unlike many other race tracks in the Nation, this very historic speedway is located right in the heart of the city.
It’s an incredible race track to see and watch a live race event at. This enormous 2.5 mile Super Speedway that was built back in 1959 by Bill France, Sr. This man was also the founder of NASCAR.
… hence the phrase NASCAR

The High Banks Of Daytona International Speedway
Even if you’re not a stock car racing fan, a visit to this incredible facility is simply a “Must Do” worthwhile attraction you can add to your holiday plans. At the race track you can check out;

Like any sports event, television simply cannot show what it’s truly like to experience a live stock car race.
There are a number of events to select from throughout the year, besides just stock car racing at Daytona Speedway.
Daytona International Speedway Track Tours
I highly recommend taking one of the track tours with your family when visiting the race track. The basic Speedway tour gives you a nice all around look at the speedway, along with a number of other cool attractions.
The tour is very affordable and interesting for all ages.

We took the tour a few years back when we experienced the July night race at Daytona, and to actually get out and walk along the 31 degree banking is incredible!

The Daytona 500 – Daytona Speedways Premier Event
The Premier stock car racing series kicks off their season with the biggest race of the year. This race is held here at Daytona speedway and I am sure you have all heard of it at some point. It is called the …
It is the most prestigious stock car race held in the world! The next major race event is in the summer and normally held over the Independence Day Holiday Weekend in July. This is the race our family attended and it was outstanding!
The race track has lights erected all around the race track, so the summer race is held in the evening when temperatures are cooler and comfortable for race fans and drivers.
Watching a race under the lights is spectacular!
We attended the races in conjunction with a summer vacation to Disney World Florida. We traveled all the way from the west coast of Canada and memories of this holiday will last a lifetime!
With a little careful planning ahead, we were able to take in so much over our2 week visit, keeping all members of the family happy!
Daytona Speedway at Daytona Beach Florida
Daytona Beach is about a 1 hour drive from Disney World, making it easily accessible. Below, I’ve listed just a few things to enjoy during your stay;

From great beaches, fishing, golf, dining to stock car racing, Daytona has everything for you and your family.
There are over 25 miles of beach along the shores of Daytona Beach. The shoreline has an assortment of accommodations that are sure to suit your family budget and desires.
One other stop we made was to the Kennedy Space Center, definitely another amazing attraction in this part of Florida.
Stop thinking about attending the NASCAR races and start planning a memorable vacation to Daytona Beach and Daytona International Speedway. One of my favorite travel quotes has always been;
It was without a doubt, one of the best vacations we have taken as a family when our kids were much younger. It was also one of the most exciting race events we’ve attended as well!
Update August 2020:
NASCARs Top 3 Premier series will race on the historic 3.56-mile DAYTONA Road Course on the weekend of August 14th – 16th.
The last few races, a limited number of fans have been allowed into the stands to view the races. This will also be the case for this weekend event, due to the Covid-19 Corona Virus pandemic. Let’s hope this will pass very quickly and we can all get on with our lives as usual with all travel, tours and attractions open once again!
Update January 2021:
The 62nd Running of the Daytona 500 NASCAR Cup Series Race was held on February 14, 2021.
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 NASCAR Weekend will be held on August 27 – 28, 2021. Be sure to check the tracks website for more detailed up to date information.
