Englishman River Falls Provincial Park – Vancouver Island BC
British Columbia is home to over 700 National, Provincial & Regional Parks, with Vancouver Island home to some of the best. Englishman River Falls Provincial Park is among one of the finest in BC, and one not to be missed when visiting the Island.
Running alongside Englishman River, this park is situated alongside a spectacular canyon, with 2 amazing waterfalls running down the canyon.
Directions To Englishman River Falls Provincial Park
Englishman River Falls is located just 13 km from the City of Parksville of Vancouver Island. Follow Errington Road just off of Highway #4, located between Parksville and Coombs.
Its easy to find and Provincial Direction Signs are posted on the highways, as are all the Parks in the Province.
Park Amenities
Theres a large day-use area and provincial campground at this 97-hectare park. Easy hiking trails run throughout the old growth picturesque forest and alongside the river bank.
Cedar, arbutus, fir, maple and hemlock old growth trees are situated all through the Park and along the Englishman River itself.
There are 3 km of maintained trails that wind through this majestic old growth and second growth forested park.
Expect amazing views on your hike, especially when you cross two pedestrian only bridges that span over the river. The short hike to the lower falls end up at a deep cold water pool area.
This is perfect for a summer dip!
During the months of Fall, the lower Falls is a perfect view point for observing the Spawning Salmon.
Camping At Englishman River Falls
The campground contains 103 sites. There are pit toilets and drinking water. The non-serviced sites are all forested providing an intimate nature experience for all.
Campsite reservations are accepted and some first-come first-serve sites are also available. Reservations can be made at the BC Parks website Ive listed below for your convenience.
Note:
If you plan on camping at the Park, advance reservations are highly recommended, especially during the peak season (May – September).
Nearby Area Attractions
Nearby attractions also include Cathedral Grove located in MacMillan Provincial Park. This is also a must visit Park, where you can walk amongst beautiful old growth giant Douglas fir trees.
This route will also take you to the rugged west coast and world renowned Pacific Rim National Park and the communities of Tofino & Ucluelet BC.
As you can see , theres so many beautiful attractions and destinations to visit on Central Vancouver Island.

Update 2021:
Multi-Use Trail Project opening event June 27, 2021.
Construction is now complete on the new exciting 2.3km multi-use trail network at Englishman River Falls Provincial Park. Through a formal partnership agreement, these new sections of trail have been handed over to the Arrowsmith Cycling Club (ACC) to maintain.
