If you ever find yourself heading to Reno, Nevada, then you certainly should consider a stay at The Grand Sierra Hotel Casino. If its a hotel room or a Recreational Vehicle Park you may be looking for, then the Grand Sierra Resort Casino is your place to stay.

On one of our many travels south to the NASCAR Races in Phoenix, Arizona in our recreational vehicle, we decided to make a stop at this wonderful property in the State of Nevadas …

The Grand Sierra Resort Good Sam RV Park

Our main reason for staying here was for the full facility recreational vehicle park located on the property.

For those belonging to the Good Sam Club, you will be happy to know this is a recognized Good Sam Park where you are entitled to the extra discount. Regardless of this, the rates for full hookup sites are extremely low in comparison to other private parks in the area.

Definitely worth checking out!

The park is just steps away from the main hotel and registered campground guests are entitled to enjoy free access to the hotels beautiful outdoor pool and hot tub, as well as the indoor fitness club. The pool offers full time life guards as well as complimentary towel service.

Such a deal!

On the hotel grounds, you can also access the hotels free wifi internet service which is another added bonus, especially for those traveling on the road such as us.

Grand Sierra Resort – The Best Buffet In Reno

After a long days drive and after checking into the RV Park we headed over to the Hotel in search of the ever popular Elements Buffet. It didnt take us long to discover the location of the Buffet because of the huge line-up at the entrance. To us, this is a good sign and a signal that the food must be good!

First, we made our way to the Guest Services area to sign up for the Hotels GSRewards cards and were introduced to the Guest Service Supervisor – Mr. Randy Spangler. After a wonderful welcome to the property Mr. Spangler cordially invited my wife and I to enjoy a dinner at the Elements Buffet.

With recommendations from others prior to our arrival that dinner in the buffet was simply a must, we can now also say that was without a doubt,  one of the best buffet dinners we have enjoyed over the years. This includes some of the best buffet restaurants in Las Vegas and on some of the more prominent Cruise Lines as well.

In terms of restaurants in Reno, Nevada, Elements Buffet features a cozy atmosphere and a spectacular array of foods! Chefs are at attention to serve up hot carved meats, pizzas right from the oven and fresh tossed salads.

There’s a pasta station with hot sauces prepared before your eyes, a south of the border station with enchiladas and more. An international station with foods from around the world, and the ever-popular seafood station filled with fresh cooked shrimp nightly. Save room for dessert!

The staff were friendly and ever attentive throughout the meal. There was an endless variety of delicious items to choose from, surely to satisfy most everyone!

A wonderful choice and highly recommended for those planning a visit to this lovely resort.

Grand Sierra Resort – Family Friendly Hotel

There is a lot more to this resort than just the Casino!

As mentioned above, the outdoor pool and hot tub is spectacular for the whole family to enjoy, complete with on-duty lifeguards, pool bar and attendants greeting you with fresh pool towels.

Inside, you can enjoy a full service fitness center to shed a few calories after enjoying the buffet or specialty restaurants at the resort.

We also discovered a unique outdoor golf range where enthusiasts can swing away, hitting their golf balls into a lake complete with tiny islands. Great prizes can be won for hitting certain areas on the islands for those so lucky!

The resort also has Bowling, Indoor Golf, and Movie Cinemas for all to enjoy. Here you will also find The Grand Theater for headliner entertainment and stage production shows!

Grand Sierra Resort – Grand Adventure Land

But thats not all!

Located on the north end of the resorts parking lot is Reno’s best amusement park.  There’s fun for the whole family, with go-kart racing, adrenaline-pumping thrill ride and miniature golf for everyone to enjoy!

We are so happy we made the decision to add the Grand Sierra Resort to our travel plans and will be sure to return once again in the near future.
