A Review Of Our Stay At The Scotsman Inn Pictou Nova Scotia
Our first stop and overnight stay after visiting the picturesque Cabot Trail, was at The Scotsman Inn Pictou Nova Scotia.
This Inn is a beautifully restored building that was built back in 1865 and located right downtown in the quaint seaside town of Pictou.
The Scotsman Inn B&B

Pictou is a lovely seaside community located on the beautiful Northumberland Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. It is also known as the “Birthplace of New Scotland.” It was in Pictou where the first Scottish immigrants landed back in 1773.
Scotsman Inn Brief History
The very historic building that now houses The Scotsman Inn dates back to 1865, situated in the heart of historic Pictou. Located right downtown, it has a very interesting and storied history.
From originating as a family home and general store, it also housed the town library, various businesses, and also ran as an apartment in past years.

Today the present owner and with his wife and your hosts at the Inn, have refurbished the building into a beautiful historic B&B Inn.

Guest Rooms At The Inn

The Inn has 10 rooms in total, all completely refurbished and tastefully decorated. Every room comes with its own private 3 piece bath.
As well, all guest rooms come with cable television, in room WiFi, coffee/tea, private parking area and storage for those guests traveling with bicycles.

1 King Garden Suite, 6 Queen Bed Guest Rooms and 3 Twin Rooms.
King Garden Suite

We had the distinct pleasure of staying in the very large King Garden Suite. Located on the main floor, this suite comes complete with a large sitting area, private bath and full size bedroom.

For those wishing a larger more private room to spend their stay, this is a perfect choice!

Inclusive Continental Breakfast

Your room includes a nice continental breakfast in the main dining room. Weather permitting, guests can also enjoy their breakfast outdoors on the comfortable deck.
Choose from a selection of various cereals and breads, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, juice, tea, coffee, jams, and more.
A great way to start your morning and an opportunity to meet other visiting guests as well!
Outside Garden Area and Balcony Patio

A nice added feature to the Inn and especially so during the warm summer months, guests can enjoy relaxing outside in the fresh air on the upper floor balcony.
Complete with comfortable seating for you to sit back, relax and enjoy your stay.

As well, theres a nice open grassy garden area at the side of the Inn, where you can also sit and enjoy the outdoors and fresh air. You are within minutes walking to the waterfront, shopping and area restaurants.
We enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets during our stay in Pictou.

Caribou Munroe Provincial Park is just 8 kilometers down the road as well. A lovely park on a beautiful stretch of beach.
A great place for a nice walk on the beach and picnic!

We had a wonderful stay and only wish we could have spent more time. Pictou is a perfect seaside town to visit. Whether a stop over while passing through like we did, or for a much longer stay to enjoy the many attractions the area has to offer.
It was perfect for us while traveling between the famous Cabot Trail and Prince Edward Island.
