Discover Top Bridge Regional Trail On Vancouver Island

One of the great things about living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia – Canada, is the amount of beautiful National, Provincial and Regional Parks we have to explore. Vancouver Island offers adventure and outdoor enthusiasts some of best, which include one of our favorites, the Top Bridge Regional Trail In Parksville BC.

Parksville is a small, very popular oceanfront resort community located just minutes north of the City of Nanaimo. BC Ferries offers convenient vehicle and passenger ferry travel to and from Vancouver on the Mainland, and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island .

Top Bridge Regional Trail – A Multi Purpose Park

Situated right in downtown Parksville and which connects with the very popular Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park in the city, this multi purpose trail is popular year round. Its a very easy 5 kilometer hiking trail which makes its way around the very scenic Englishman River.

Theres also easy access along the route for those riding bicycles from the campground and around the city limits.

Enjoy a leisurely hike all season long, with fishing as well at specific times of the year. In summer, the park comes alive with swimming, picnicking, mountain biking and more!

Englishman River definitely becomes one of Parksville’s most popular destinations away from the beautiful beaches. For those wishing to explore nature and take a cool refreshing dip in the river and its natural swimming pools, it’s ideal!

One other added attraction this regional park offers, is the Top Bridge Crossing. This is a great pedestrian and cyclist suspension bridge which crosses over the Englishman River and right next to the popular swimming holes in the park.

This is an excellent spot to relax along the river on the rocks and enjoy the beauty of the park, have a picnic, take a dip, or just sit back and soak in the scenery!

This is an 81 meter suspension bridge which will connect you with the different trails in the park for hiking and biking. The bridge is a great location for picture taking!

Getting to park is very easy and within close proximity to the Tourist Information Center and to Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. From Parksville, you can easily reach the park by way of the Top Bridge Trail and Top Bridge Crossing.

Above, is a map showing the Park and Englishman River. For those driving and wish to visit the Park, there is limited parking right next to the Suspension Bridge as well.Most anyone living in the city will be able to direct you to the park.

Theres so much to see and do in and around Parksville, making it a major tourist attraction on Vancouver Island, particularly during the summer months.
